8 days – 7 nights
Tour Code GR8
This self-drive program gives you the opportunity to discover Crete at your own pace with our suggestions of highlights along the way and travel routes, from your arrival at Heraklion to your return.
Greece is a land of breathtaking contrasts where quaint fishing villages dotted along the coast seem a world away from the imposing and ancient monuments erected thousands of years ago.
The capital, Athens, is a vibrant city where a modern, urban lifestyle sits comfortably with classic architecture and world heritage sites that reflect many millennia of civilization, including the Acropolis, the Parthenon and the Temple of Olympian Zeus.
On the outskirts of Athens the famous archaeological sites of Delphi, Mycenae and Meteora, amongst many others, are truly inspiring.
Past thousand year old olive groves, along coastal roads and through mountain terrain and clifftops perched high above the glistening blue Aegean Sea, mainland Greece is an enchanting and enriching destination for every traveller. A trip to any one, or more, of the famous Greek Islands, showcases beautiful beaches, ancient settlements, fun, food and drink and mesmerising sunsets.
A land of contrasts indeed – the modern and the mythological, the contemporary and the classical, the traditional and the 21st Century. Exploring Greece brings the promise of Mediterranean magic at its best!

From there the tour heads to Plaka (the neighbourhood of the gods) and the old city of Athens.
