Day 1: BODRUM
Bodrum is a popular Turkish holiday resort on the Aegean Sea with a history dating back to the 12th century B.C. The city was called ‘Halicarnassus’ and it was the birthplace of Herodotus; the ‘Father of History’ who lived in the 5th century B.C. The ‘Mausoleum’ of King Mausolus (350 B.C.), one of the Seven Wonders of the World is in this city. The only structure that survived from the Classical Era is the Amphitheatre. It is one of the oldest theatres in Anatolia with a capacity of 13.000 guests and it is still hosting many shows and concerts for the art-lovers of Bodrum. Another place Other unmissable landmarks include the ‘Castle of Saint Peter’, one of the best-preserved pieces of architecture dating back to the Middle Ages, and ‘Myndos Gate’ through which Alexander the Great entered Halicarnassus. Boarding from 15:30 at Bodrum Harbour with dinner and an overnight stay onboard in Bodrum Port.
Day 2: CNIDUS – INCEBURUN – BENCIK
Early morning departure for Cnidus, a developed city in science, art and architecture and home to Eudoxos, a very popular astronomer and maths professor; Dr. Euryphon; Polygontos, a popular artist; Skopas and Bryaksis of Faros, the most famous sculptors of the era and Sostrates, the architect of the Alexandrian light house -one of the seven wonders of the World.
Lunch will be served at the bay of Inceburun. Here the water is superb and you again will have the opportunity to swim in these crystal waters, then on to Bencik Bay located at the narrowest part of the peninsula that divides the Hisaronu Gulf from the Gokova Gulf. Dinner and overnight onboard at Bencik Bay.
Day 3: DIRSEKBUKU – BOZBURUN
After breakfast cruise to Dirsekbuku for lunch and a swimming break then on to Bozburun, a small fishing town once renowned for sponge-diving but today is better known for gulet tourism.
Day 4: RHODES
Cruise in the morning for the Greek Island of Rhodes, the largest of the Dodecanese Islands and a popular holiday destination. It has one of the largest European Medieval cities and Rhodes has been the cradle of many civilizations; starting with the knights of St. John in the Middle Ages, then Ottomans and Italians. Not only does the island have a unique historical harmony and beauty but also enjoys warm weather throughout the year.
Day 5: SYMI
A morning sail to Symi Island, with its pine and oak forests, for lunch and swimming in the bay. Overnight onboard at Symi Port.
Day 6: NISYROS – COS (KOS)
Today, cruise to Nisyros Island for a morning swim and optional shore excursion. The volcano on Nisyros Island erupted in 1422 and is still active. You can take an optional bus tour to the crater and see the gases coming from underground. Nikea village with its white streets and mosaic-style square is located on the side of the crater. The cruise then continues to Kos Island and the birthplace of Hippocrates, Asclepion of Medical Sciences’, is located here. Kos is the second largest island of the 12 islands (Dodecanese islands) and has a very mild climate and very fertile lands. Explore the island, swim at Lambi Beach and enjoy the wonderful nightlife.
Day 7: BLACK ISLAND (POYRAZ HARBOUR – METEOR BAY) – BODRUM
Today cruise back to Bodrum with lunch and a swimming break in the turquoise waters of Poyraz Bay, on the northern side of Karaada (Black Island), before anchoring at Meteor Bay, on the southern side of the island. Bodrum Harbour for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 8: BODRUM
After breakfast, disembark at the end of your gulet cruise.
