4 Hour Excursion – Abu Simbel by Air
This 4 hour flight is a spectacular and unique addition to any tour of Egypt. Departing daily from Aswan, year round,
the two temples here – that of Rameses II and his wife Nefertari – are among the most amazing sights you will see in this ancient land. Perched on a sandstone cliff for 3,000 years, the two temples came under threat of submersion during the construction of the High Dam at Aswan and were part of a salvage operation that began n 1964 and ended in 1968 when the temples were delicately dismantled and moved further up the cliff where they were re-assembled and preserved.
